Dynamical transition in sliding charge-density waves with quenched disorder.

چکیده
We have studied numerically the dynamics of sliding charge-density waves ~CDW’s! in the presence of impurities in d51,2. The model considered exhibits a first-order dynamical transition at a critical driving force Fc between ‘‘rough’’ ~disorder dominated! (F,Fc) and ‘‘flat’’ (F.Fc) sliding phases where disorder is washed out by the external drive. The effective model for the sliding CDW’s in the presence of impurities can be mapped onto that of a magnetic flux line pinned by columnar defects and tilted by an applied field. The dynamical transition of sliding CDW’s corresponds to the transverse Meissner effect of the tilted flux line. @S0163-1829~96!02841-X#

Possibility of the Solid-Fluid Transition in Moving Periodic Systems
The steady sliding state of periodic structures such as charge density waves and flux line lattices is numerically studied based on the three dimensional driven random field XY model. We focus on the dynamical phase transition between plastic flow and moving solid phases controlled by the magnitude of the driving force. By analyzing the connectivity of co-moving clusters, we find that they perc...
متن کاملSimple model of collective transport with phase slippage.
We present a mean-field analysis of a many-body dynamical system which models charge-densitywave transport in the presence of random pinning impurities. Phase slip between charge-density-wave domains is modeled by a coupling term that is periodic in the phase diA'erences. When driven by an external field, the system exhibits a first-order depinning transition, hysteresis, and switching between ...
متن کاملStudy of Silanolate Groups (SiO-) in Synthesis of Micelle Templated Silica with Various Condition of Cationic Surfactant
Based on the {S+, I-} pathway, the concentration of surfactant and surface charge density of silanolate groups control the phase transition from lamellar, to hexagonal through cubic form. The high surface charge density of silanolate groups was observed for the lamellar phase. With decrease of molar concentration of surfactant on the gel, the yield of...
متن کاملDynamic Phases, Pinning, and Pattern Formation for Driven Dislocation Assemblies
We examine driven dislocation assemblies and show that they can exhibit a set of dynamical phases remarkably similar to those of driven systems with quenched disorder such as vortices in superconductors, magnetic domain walls, and charge density wave materials. These phases include pinned-jammed, fluctuating, and dynamically ordered states, and each produces distinct dislocation patterns as wel...
متن کاملTopological transitions and freezing in XY models and Coulomb gases with quenched disorder: renormalization via traveling waves
We study the two dimensional XY model with quenched random phases and its Coulomb gas formulation. A novel renormalization group (RG) method is developed which allows to study perturbatively the glassy low temperature XY phase and the transition at which frozen topological defects (vortices) proliferate. This RG approach is constructed both from the replicated Coulomb gas and, equivalently with...
